CCW / How To Use The Restroom
Hi this is Maani with Phoenix Tactical Solutions and today we’re going to talk about going to the bathroom if you’re concealed carrying.
Let’s start off with appendix carry and going to the urinal because you’re not going to have an issue if you’re carrying 3 o’clock or 4 o’clock – you just unzip and take care of business.
0:30 – Maani demonstrates appendix carry / unzipping to use restroom
I’m carrying appendix carry – not gonna release the Kraken so don’t worry about it – you unzip, then you put your finger underneath the holster and push up on it. Hook your underwear with your thumb, pull it down, take care of business.
When you’re done, push up the holster again, tuck your underwear underneath the holster – because there’s a tendency sometimes for it to go over the holster and it’s very uncomfortable, zip up and you’re good to go. Simple way of doing it, obviously. Again, 3 o’clock or 4 o’clock, you don’t have to worry about it, just take care of business.
Now I saw a video where they recommended – if you’re carrying appendix carry and going to the urinal – taking the whole holster out, tucking it under your armpit, taking care of business, then taking it off, and putting it back on… that’s the most ridiculous thing I’ve ever heard. First of all, you’re brandishing – you’re holding it under your armpit and it could fall – so many things could go wrong. So don’t do it that way.

Again:
- Unzip
- Put your fingers underneath the holster, the muzzle
- Push up
- Pull your underwear down with your with your thumb
- Take care of business
- Push up again
- Tuck your underwear underneath the holster
- Zip up
If you go to into a stall and you have to do a number two, highly recommend (no matter how you’re carrying – whether it’s 3 o’clock or 4 o’clock or appendix) taking the entire unit out, gun in the holster. Put it on your lap.
1:55 – Maani demonstrates taking the entire unit out
When you’re done then clip it back in. Much safer to do it that way, even if at 3 o’clock or 4 o’clock – just run your belt through the holster and take the whole thing out. Yes, it’s a little bit of a pain in the butt but it’s safer than taking the gun out.

Again:
- Take the whole unit out
- Put it on your lap
- Do NOT put it on the toilet paper dispenser
- Do NOT hang it off the hook
- Do NOT put it on the commode
- Put it in your lap
Have it on you because you will forget – many guns are found in bathrooms!
Safest way to do it is to take the whole unit off. Yes, it’s gonna take a little bit longer to put it back on, especially if you’re carrying inside the waistband for 4 o’clock, but better be safe, right? We don’t want to be handling a gun and in the toilet. So those are my recommendations.
Thanks for watching.
